********************************* Daytona Beach International Airport (DAB) is served by Delta / Comair, Continental, and a host of small carriers whose flights to the Caribbean account for the "International" bit. It is easy to get into and out of and is located only about five miles from the Plaza Resort. Most connections to DAB come from Atlanta (Delta); Cincinnati (Comair) and Newark (Continental) are also served. No shuttle service is available from DAB to the hotel, but taxi cabs will be available. When my car broke down on my way to a meeting at the hotel recently, the cabbit told me that the fare from the airport to the hotel would probably be $10-12. Flying to Orlando [As a convenience for SEMA participants, a new web page has been established as a clearinghouse for those interested in sharing a ride to or from one of the more distant airports. (Flights arrive in Daytona Beach only from Atlanta, Cincinnati, and Newark and a few Caribbean destinations.) We cannot guarantee that you will find someone to share a ride, but we will post your information so that any interested participants can contact you directly.] Dozens of airlines fly to Orlando, about 75 miles from Daytona Beach, and fares are usually lower than fares to DAB as a result. There is a shuttle, DOTS (www.dots-daytonabeach.com), that will take you to and from Daytona for about $50 round trip. The shuttle leaves hourly and the trip takes about two hours.
